Act. Now.: Tara on Nerve
On cope or cop out, and nerve:
It comes down to necessity and immediacy, I believe. Being “brave” is nonsense. We do what we are compelled to do. What we don’t have a choice to not do. I think this includes running back into a burning building, helping a friend in need, and making decisions about your life that others don’t understand. It is an instinctual response to a situation that you are right in the middle of.
Act. Now. And you naturally know what needs to be done, and all the reasons that in the hypothetical, or in restrospect, seem to make action impossible, just don’t matter.
