Goodnight Gorilla

by Peggy Rathman

This was Tessa’s favorite book when she was one, and I am head-over-heels happy that Calder loves it too.  He tells the story, saying “ni-ni” to each animal and using his ridiculously cute whisper-voice to point out the gorilla unlocking each cage.  When the animals all get cozy in the zookeeper’s bedroom, Calder signs “sleepy,” and when the zookeeper’s wife discovers them all there, Calder laughs and laughs.

I could read this book to him a thousand times and never tire of it.

Which is lucky, because I probably will.
