Bliss was it: Maxwell on A New Day
“Bliss was it in that dawn to be alive. But to be young was very heaven!” – William Wordsworth.

It’s already more than we hoped for. A non-Bush, Democratic, accomplished, brilliant, historic, badass presidential candidate wins an overwhelming majority and begins his first term with an 80% approval rating. All year I’ve been channeling my inner “Barack” before job interviews and tense meetings, basically anytime I put on a tie, and now he’s our leader, and open to all of our scorn for whatever he fails to do, but a source of pride, comfort, inspiration – America’s first cult of personality since Reagan, and our first Democratic one since Kennedy, and he’s already so much MORE than Kennedy. I’ve already heard parents reprimanding their children, “How do you think Barack Obama got where he is?!” Even right now I’m looking at my neighbor’s desktop background – the First Family, the most beautiful First Family we’ve ever had, with Sasha giving the thumbs up. What more can I say?
