Hello
It’s transition time around here.
New town, new house, new job for Ari and new school for Tessa and Calder… All these changes have demanded lots of attention, and I’ve gladly shelved my propensity for multitasking and concentrated on settling in.
But instead of embracing the miraculous three mornings a week I have to myself, I’ve been writing posts, taking photos, checking out books, and doing all sorts of this and that without a real sense of focus. I’ve been having a sort of existential crisis, with what and how and why I blog right at the center.
So it’s time for something else new: a new blog design and a newly clarified focus.
I write: Writing is my passion, and I’m working on making it my career. I’ve got a stack of books about writing – I especially like the ones about the intersection of motherhood and writing – and I’m working my way through exercises from others authors and prompts that come straight from my life.
I read: Anything, anywhere, anytime, to anyone. My first foray into blogging, way back in 2005, was AReadingLife.com, where I posted a bit about every book I read. I loved doing it, but the timing wasn’t right and I went back to the analog book journals I’ve kept forever. This blog has always had a Bookshelf page, but I’ve decided to incorporate my reading more seamlessly into my posts.
I share: Photos, projects, ideas, experiences. Thanks for reading.
