Posts I Haven’t Written
Sometimes, when it’s been a while and all inspiration has deserted you, you just have to get back on the horse and write something.
It’s not that I haven’t been writing in my head, it’s just that I haven’t invited anyone else to my pity party. Here’s what you haven’t been missing:
- Angst, etc.
- In which you, dear reader, play the part of therapist
- Interlude
- Zen and the art of freaking out
- Nope. Nothing definite.
But it’s cool.
The light looks pretty incredible right now, and I think my camera is calling. We have a standing Tuesday play date with our very best friends, and I know I’ll get exactly the right mix of sympathy and reality. Here goes.
What about you? How do you bounce back?

i go for a walk. seriously. even if i don’t want to and i’m lazy and my bed is calling, a walk clears my head and turns it upward or outward and makes me see something other than myself. although i also can hear myself think so much clearer out there, too. sometimes i may even hear myself talking outloud. beach, woods, even just a lap around the park.
believe me, i love and need a nap most days as much as anyone, but if i force myself out, i usually bounce back.
ps-is “zen and the art of freaking out” out in paperback yet?
How about an “Examiner” article called “Zen and the Art of Freaking Out”?! Kathleen Meil would nail that one!
It will get better and a bit easier. A healthy family always functions better.
I love that too, Zen and the art of freaking out! You should definitely use it. This may not help right now, but what I do when I’m feeling like that is write! Write without thinking and you’ll be surprised at what you find out!
